7 Reasons to Hire a Design-Build Firm

We are here to help you bring your dreams to live

1. You like the idea of a Master Builder
In a design-build firm the construction and design are for the most part handled by separate persons, yet a tight working relationship between these two sectors can result in a master builder end product.
Our team here at Gramophone/Kitchen Design Center of Maryland is comprised of designers, licensed construction, and electrical experts as well as skilled craftspeople who work together under a single contract.

2. You want a Construction Methods Specialist
The design-build firm model brings all members of a project team together early in the process- designer, contractor, engineer, & any specialty contractors. This puts tricky construction issues in view at the very beginning of the building process.

3. You are on a tight schedule
Any disagreements between the contractor and designer can lead to serious slowdowns. With a design-build firm all the players are on the same team, which can lead to faster timelines as issues have already been ironed out before project start.

4. You want a team that works well together
Conflict free building is the goal and with a design-build firm the key personnel already know each and have a proven track record. Since they already work together this leads to less conflicts, delays, and stoppages.

5. You want to fix up your fixer-upper
Renovation of a home in older or poor condition can be laden with challenges. One must negotiate multiple contracts-plumbing, electrical, flooring, painting, products, etc. In addition, each of these items must be scheduled according to a specific construction timeline. Design-build firms handle everything with one contract thereby eliminating the stress of hiring each one independently.

6. Staying on budget
The contract between the client and a design-build firm is the result of careful consideration/collaboration of time, materials and labor hours which should not have large amounts of costly and untimely changes later. The communication between the client, designer and construction manager from the idea phase helps keep everyone on budget.

7. You feel overwhelmed
It is natural to feel overwhelmed. Working with a design-build firm can reduce the stress of project management, simplify the building process & reduce the number of people you deal with. One-stop shopping with a wonderful final result. If that sounds good to you please reach out to our team via email or phone.
